The other will be focused on new urban farming and food […]

Upcoming Projects

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic and other events, we have not been very active lately, but we are still working on plans for local projects, as discussed in the last post, and are preparing to launch a new website dedicated to discussing Christian community and a radical Christian lifestyle. Contact us for more information, or watch for announcements here.

A new path forward

After taking two years off for discernment and reflection, we are considering a new model. We plan to open a food buying co-op with a focus on eating together as a community; once a stable group develops, we can move into more production-oriented activities, such as bulk food processing and preserving, and contracting with local farmers. Eventually, the goal is an urban farm of our own.

I think this new model will be easier to for members to integrate into their lives. Many people are unfamiliar with growing and processing food, but everyone buys food, so this would be a comparatively easy step to implement, and we could increase the complexity slowly as we felt ready to do so.
